Description
A poster version of a work that I sold many years ago, of a girl reaching for fruit in a dragon shaped tree. This started when someone gave me a piece of canvas that had been partially covered with paint that had been poured, dripped and splattered, apparently at random. Instead of whitewashing it with gesso to recycle it, I decided to modify the painted areas with collaged elements. After adding the illustration of the tree trunk with people, the tree resembled a dragon’s head, which I emphasized by adding an eyeball shape. After adding a surrealistic foreground of organic shapes, I painted the sky with swirls to give it some texture.

Thank you for this wonderful compliment !... I used Google Translate for assistance, since the few Portuguese words that I know are lyrics from the classic age of Sambas - Gilberto, Jobim, and Mendes....phrases like chove Chuba..it is such a melodic language !
