Artist's Description
I just mailed this collage to the Kansas City Mo. Public Library. It is my entry in the 26th annual Small Format Exhibit of the National Collage Society, and will be on display from April 8 through June 16, 2023. All entries are post card size collages, 4 x6 inches.
The Pop Art style woman was expressing anxiety about some product in a magazine advertisement. The two round speakers each have two electrical wires connecting them to a square circuit board. They were recycled from two novelty greeting cards that played a musical tune when a button on the front of the card was touched. Some QR codes added to balance the design, and an image of an instrument gauge suggests possible brain damage.

Douglas, you took a cue from the central image and expanded on it brilliantly, and humorously, as always! Well done! Fav/tweet!
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks for an insightful compliment, Rahdne….I had originally decided to surround the central image with $$ signs as a comment on the bogeyman of Inflation, but it didn’t have the visual impact of incorporating actual technological pieces…
