I had to come back. I have a DEEP attraction to skulls. I find them to be inherently beautiful and emotive forms that can play well at the hands of a talented artist. Dont give up completely on your Gothic period.....just bring up to the present.

Douglas Fromm replied:

An intriguing comment…perhaps it would be possible to bring my Gothic tendencies into the present by connecting them with current affairs such as Climate Change or COVID. …

This is very cool!

Douglas Fromm replied:

Thank you....years ago I went through my Gothic Horror period because it was easy to sell the silly stuff. Eventually I got bored and moved on, but still had one 36x60” unfinished canvas started with these Halloween skull masks in the center. . Now I decided to finally finish it. This is the largest section completed so far....

That’s going be fantastic Douglas! I’m digging the eyeballs in skulls, and the worms and tentacles! Although, I’m not a spider fan, not at all, but I’ll deal with it. : ) Cheers!

Douglas Fromm replied:

Thanks, James....I wish that I could paint worms and tentacles this well , but the credit goes to some unknown commercial artist . The 3 larger skulls came from Dollar Tree, every Halloween they have a ton of CreepyGraphic stuff ! I glued the smaller skull, a demon, 4 eyes, a gorilla face, an ear, and some brains....

Isn't this just fabulously wild and crazy?? Wow...loooove your surrealistic creations...and looking at this...I can see my eye in there too :) amazing artwork, Douglas :) f.l.

Douglas Fromm replied:

Wild and crazy seems to come naturally to me ! This started when I saw the 3 bottom skulls in a dollar store.... everything else came from magazines
