Artist's Description
Some people rescue animals and give them loving homes .My best friend Louise rescues distressed orchids from the clearance racks of garden stores and nurses them back to health. They live outside here in Georgia until October and then move inside. This delightful specimen only blooms inside our house, and has been doing so each winter for many years !
About Douglas Fromm
Douglas Fromm is a self taught artist who started his career designing concert posters and record album covers for San Francisco rock bands. He is a Signature Member of the National Collage Society (USA), and has had work selected by juries to be exhibited in 10 different National Collage Shows during the years from 2009 through 2023. .. One of his works ( shown on FAA as "An Artist Contemplates Good and Evil" ) is part of the National Collage Teaching Collection at Kent State University, Ohio.

Douglas, I had terrible luck with orchids, then my husband decided to show off! He has two doing very well, I am getting him blue ones for Valentine's Day. Problem is we have cats, so he has created an attractive way to block them off with clear acrylic, it's quite nice on the window sill and there is room for one more. Your capture is so lovely. I also have a hard time capturing them!! And we are hoping to attend an orchid fest weekend after next. Goodness, I am writing a novel! Sorry.

Thank you, Michael....and also for sharing your captures of of one of the world’s iconic cities !...I lived there in the late 60’s and most of the 70’s, when it was still affordable., as in $ 80.00 a month to live in a backyard cottage in upper Noe Valley. My patio was covered with Jade plants and other succulents....
