That looks like a beautiful place to live. Awesome Doug. Fav
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks, Donna…I had not thought of this image as being an beautiful place, as it was just an abstract that needed a title…. it somewhat resembled a map, and so it became a place…

Excellent city concept and even more fascinating as a map of your mind in the late 60's! So cool to see how your mind works. I like the layers and partial erasing to create transparencies... real skills and craftsmanship and exposure of process.

What an insightful critique !.....Back in the Day, the ancient 60’’s and early 70’s, the “map of my mind” was just a discombobulated gumbo of images. My standard operating procedures were Instinct and Intuition !!

What a delightful map! :-)
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thank you !.....it was not intended to be a map, just an abstract experiment. I usually name pieces after I finish them. The first thing they popped into my mind was a map, because the intersecting lines resembled streets, and the rectangular blocks suggested a neighborhood. You are the first visitor to connect the title with the image !
