Description
I found an old wooden crate behind a hardware store that had been closed for many years, and saved these two boards. I mounted them on a new board cut to fit into an old picture frame, and glued dozens of found objects ( which I call RoadKill) into the empty spaces between the boards and the frame. I gave it to a friend in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is were I'm from. Up in Milton Pennsylvania is beautiful, up along the Susquehanna River. Never heard of the Milton MFG. Co. Or even if it exists anymore. Awesome Doug.

Super cool, I'd love to see your 'object' filing system :D
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks, Michael....I actually do have a semi-organized filing system for my metal RoadKill found objects. Metal tins in assorted shapes and sizes ....round ones that were made for cookies, and rectangular ones that held candy or tea...the round tins hold hundreds of metal washers that are sorted by size and type of metal - brass, copper, steel. The rectangular tins hold square washers and odd shaped pieces of metal.

Love the textures of this piece. It has a nostalgic feel to it.
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thank you....I suppose that any nostalgia associated with this piece has to do with the age of the wood. I sometimes wonder if the crate is even older than I am.....(74)....

I like what you did to this...very creative!
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thank you...it was challenging to sort through the hundreds of “RoadKill” pieces of scrap metal to fond ones the right size, shape, and color that were needed to create this work...
