Title
Circular Convergence of Mutated Molecules
Artist
Douglas Fromm
Medium
Mixed Media - Collage On Canvas
Description
I covered a 12 inch circular canvas with black acrylic. Then I cut dozens of circles and ovals out of magazines and newspapers ( most were the letter "O" ), and glued them onto the canvas starting at the outer edge. This is the second of a series, the first is in my FAA portfolio as Crescent Moon. This work is part of the permanent collection of the National Collage Society in Hudson Ohio.

Truly marvelous! Wondering how you created all the small circles....
Douglas Fromm replied:
Your Marvelous compliments are always appreciated!… I search through magazines page by page looking at the images for circles and ovals, and the text for the letter O. For a black background collage like this I choose O’s and ovals ith a white edge and a dark interior. For collages with a white background I pick O’s and ovals with a dark edge and a white interior. I pull those pages out, and then later trim the circles with fine point scissors …
